The choir is open to those aged 14years upwards (no upper age limit):

You just need to be able to:

· sing in tune  - sing in harmony - and have good musical timing

But you DON’T have to be able to read music and you DON'T have to audition. You will be helped to learn the pieces by ear and there will be plenty of rehearsal time for you to pick things up.

If you're interested, ring Sharon on 01483 279803 to arrange to come along to a rehearsal and see if you enjoy it, before committing yourself.

Comments from the choir………….
“I’ve been wanting to join a choir for years, but where was ‘Sister Act’ when I needed it?  Then, along came The Cranleigh Contemporary Choir and my prayers were answered!  We sing great, modern, energising songs of all styles and influences and I look forward to our weekly sessions, which are pure fun in the company of lovely people.  Brilliant!”  Eve Cooke, chorister

"The Cranleigh Contemporary Choir was just what I had been looking for, a chance to have a really good sing as well as improve under Sharon's lively tuition. Its been uplifting and great fun and I've met new people. What a find right on the doorstep!"  Jane Bowden, chorister

“I’m very pleased to be part Sharon’s choir, it’s nice to be involved in something that is such a unique concept for this area, there’s nothing quite like it in Cranleigh.  She has a fantastic ability at developing the choir’s confidence and enthusiasm as a group.  She chooses really great songs that are enjoyable to learn and perform and also provides valuable hints and tips about vocal technique.”
Emma Bamford, chorister

Singer, Singing teacher, Sharon Duggan

Sharon started the Cranleigh Contemporary Choir in January 2006 as the in-house choir at Cranleigh Arts Centre.  She works on an exciting and diverse repertoire,  dynamic & rich in harmony with music ranging from soul, r'n'b, rock to pop and some folk songs to name a few. In addition, choristers benefit from Sharon's experience as a singing and performance teacher, as she provides vocal and performance hints as part of the rehearsals - as well as providing a light-hearted and fun atmosphere.

A special note for male choristers - we do now have about 5 male members - so don't be shy, come along and join us!

Rehearsals take place weekly during term-times atCranleigh Arts Centre on: Thursday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.15pm.
