But you DON’T have to be able to read music and you DON'T have to audition. You will be helped to learn the pieces by ear and there will be plenty of rehearsal time for you to pick things up.
If you're interested, just ring me to arrange to come along to a rehearsal and see if you enjoy it free of charge, before committing yourself.
The other great thing about the Dorking and Cranleigh Community Choirs is the repertoire. I cover everything really, from folk, pop, jazz, r'n'b, soul, rock, soft goth, to classical. As such, the choir covers a much more diverse genre of music than most other choirs - plus, it's a great place to meet friends and have fun.
So if you love singing, come along and get involved - you won't regret it!

Some concessions are available for those experiencing hardship, so please don't be

Following on from the success and popularity of the Cranleigh Community Choir, which I started in January 2006, I've now set up another choir, this time in Dorking. Like the Cranleigh Community Choir, the Dorking Community Choir is a non-religious choir which hopefully means that everyone is welcome. Our first term commenced from September 2011, and as such we're keen to have new members - that means you - so don't be shy, come along and have some fun!
As this is a new choir, the first concert was a combined event with the well established Cranleigh Community Choir and took place on Thursday, 8th December 2011. Everyone had a brilliant time and the concert was a great success as usual. Future concerts will take place in Dorking, however.
To join the choir, you just need to be able to:
