Musical Genre Workshops:
Sharon runs some great 1 day workshops, concentrating on a particular music style. They all follow a similar format in terms of their content, but this is obviously varied depending on the musical style. So far, the following are available:
1 day Folk singing workshop
1 day Jazz and Blues singing workshop
1 day Rock singing workshop
More musical genre workshops are being developed eg. classical singing. Please see the main courses index for dates of availability for the ones already available.
The format for the Workshops is as follows:
·a brief history of the musical genre;
·some examples of various singers of the genre;
·vocal techniques used for the genre;
·suggestions for singing the genre well, both unaccompanied (where relevant eg. folk) and to music;
introduction to the voice and how it’s produced;
·vocal exercises;
·demonstrations of singing and performing in the musical style of the workshop;
·help with working on a song of your choice (optional);
·a sharing of songs at the end of the afternoon
Open to:
All aged 14 years and upwards (no upper age limit)
Fee:
£35 for the day
