The workshop will run from 10am until 4pm (please arrive no later than 9.45am)
Two breaks for coffee/tea, plus a lunch break.
Please bring your own packed lunch. Drinks will be provided.
What happens on the workshop?
This workshop is for anyone, whether a beginner of someone already performing - perhaps in a choir or a band or as a solo artist at open mics. Whatever your situation, you'll learn an enormous amount:
- how the voice is produced;
- the basics of breathing technique;
- applying the various vocal techniques to songs;
- the difference between safe technique and technique that will
damage your voice and why;
- vocal exercises explained in detail as to how they are helping your
voice;
- what constitutes bad vocal technique;
- how to prepare a song for performance, so that you understand
how to perform a song to the best of your ability -
ie. using expression, dynamics etc.;
- good microphone technique;
- learning to understand which styles of music suit your voice.

- OPTIONAL - individual help with a song of your choice in front of the
group
Open to
Anyone aged 14 years and upwards who wants to improve their voice. There are usually about 10 people on each course.
